January 5-7, 2024 – Annual Culvert Blitz (Statewide event)
March 27, 2024 – Annual Membership Meeting – Mississippi State University, Starkville, MS. Membership not required to attend. Updates on research, monitoring and emerging issues from partners. Business meeting proceeds general membership meeting.
May 18, 2024 8:00 pm – 12:00 am – Noxubee NWR BioBlitz The MBWG will mist net as part of the Noxubee NWR BioBlitz and the public is welcome to come watch and learn.
July 18 & 20, 2024 8:00 am – 4:30 pm – Grand Bay NERR / Moss Point, MS Mandy Rigsby with MSU Extension Service will host two free “Let’s Get Batty” teacher workshops. To register, email Avery Beck (avery.beck@dmr.ms.gov).
July 25-27, 2024 – 21st Annual Mist Net Event Natchez State Park (Netting on Natchez Trace Parkway & Homochitto National Forest)
August 16, 2024 8:00 p.m. Creatures of the Night program at Chakchiuma Swamp, Lee Tartt Nature Preserve, North Main Street, Grenada. This event is open to the public and will include a mist netting demonstration.
August 17-23, 2024 – 3rd Annual Bridge Blitz (Statewide event)
October, 10am-2pm (date TBD) Noxubee Refuges Days Celebration The MBWG will host a booth and activity for kids. Volunteers are welcome to help.
