The MBWG held its 16th Annual Mist Net Event on September 24-26 at Tombigbee National Forest and Noxubee National Wildlife Refuge. Twenty-five participants surveyed eight sights over the course of the two-night event. Twenty-one bats representing six species were processed and released. On Wednesday, participants toured Noxubee NWR and observed Rafinesque’s big-eared bats in an abandoned house and a cavity tree roost.
The MBWG would like to thank the public land managers that hosted us, providing meeting space and access to netting and roost sites. We’d also like to thank our sponsors, Chester Martin and Environmental Solutions and Innovations, Inc. And we couldn’t do this without the coordination of all of our team leaders and participants that continue to make this a successful and fun event!
